Come serve alongside our TTW missionaries and see first hand how our K-6th grade school has continued to move forward despite many obstacles. Be prepared to get your hands dirty on various projects around the school and neighborhood as needed.
Since 1998, Touch the World has been sending mission teams to a small community in Juarez, Mexico. This colonia is comprised of poor families that make only $1-$6 a day, living in makeshift homes on the city’s former landfill. In 2005 the school, Colegio James R. Ganley, was established to help empower and transform the community. Over the past 9 years, teams have been sent to help with the construction and to actively participate in ministry to the community. Currently, the school serves 115 students representing 65 neighborhood families. Assist our TTW missionaries with further construction projects around the school and get to know some of the beautiful families from the surrounding area.
All of our teams serving in a short-term capacity are trained to do so with a long-term view. TTW's desire is to encourage the full-time missionaries in their roles, providing them with extra hands, fellowship, and oftentimes as respite from the long, hard work they do on a daily basis. Therefore, our service is viewed less as "look at all that I can accomplish" and more from a heart of "in what little ways can I be a blessing."
Each day will include the following components and typically follow this schedule:
-Personal Quiet Time/Devotions
Most teams will have one day set aside for sightseeing or shopping for souvenirs that will typically take place towards the end of the trip. Each teams also spend one of their last days in a time of debrief to prepare them to return home and reflect upon all that they have learned through their experience.
