Partner with Abounding Grace Ministries in the Lower East Side of NYC as they seek to see healing come in broken neighborhoods.  With a passion to see Christ redeem the lost, their church hits the streets to meet physical needs while speaking to spiritual healing.  Spend your week partnering with local homeless shelters, assisting with local school service projects, and partnering with youth ministries & churches to encourage the ongoing ministries.

Pastor Rick Del Rio and his wife Arlene have been serving at Abounding Grace Ministries for over 30 years to see healing come in broken neighborhoods.  With a passion to see Christ redeem the lost, their church hits the streets to meet physical needs while speaking to spiritual healing.  Abounding Grace Ministries has a wide variety of programs that invest directly into the local community.

Teams will be involved in street-side outreach ministry through dramas and evangelism.  They will go into parks and meet people where they are at in order to share the love of Jesus.  They will also partner with local homeless shelters (i.e. NYC Rescue Mission), assist with local school service projects (cleaning up, painting, etc.), and partner with youth ministries & churches to encourage the ongoing ministries.  Team members should come with a willingness to stretch their comfort zone and prepared to serve others.

Trip Details

All of our teams serving in a short-term capacity are trained to do so with a long-term view. TTW's desire is to encourage the full-time missionaries in their roles, providing them with extra hands, fellowship, and oftentimes as respite from the long, hard work they do on a daily basis. Therefore, our service is viewed less as "look at all that I can accomplish" and more from a heart of "in what little ways can I be a blessing."

Each day will include the following components and typically follow this schedule:

-Wake-up

-Personal Quiet Time/Devotions

-Group Devotions

-Ministry/Service

-Lunch

-Ministry/Service

-Rest/Shower

-Dinner

-Evening Reflection

Most teams will have one day set aside for sightseeing or shopping for souvenirs that will typically take place towards the end of the trip. Each teams also spend one of their last days in a time of debrief to prepare them to return home and reflect upon all that they have learned through their experience.
