Community Fellowship Church of Waynesboro believes that God’s Word has the ability to change lives. They are committed to reaching out to people who are far from God, especially in reaching out to their community that is in great need of the Gospel. Rather than run from culture, CFC has chosen to harness it to connect with people and show them the life changing power of God’s timeless truths found in his word, the Bible.

Visit the beautiful Shenandoah Valley, filled with a rich history dating back to the early days of America. Nestled within the Blue Ridge Mountains and along the Appalachian Trail sits the rural town of Waynesboro. Once a home to major industries, the area now suffers with very high unemployment rates and staggering poverty rates compared to other parts of Virginia.

CFC is present within their community in many ways and teams will join in the work of the church through their ongoing outreach points. Teams will be put to work on a church project to transform a house on the church property that will hopefully be used as a haven for victims of abuse and trafficking in the future. Other work projects will be assisting with a community garden for the church’s food distribution ministry.

In addition to getting hands dirty, teams will participate in the ongoing food ministry in downtown Waynesboro four nights of the week. This is a major outreach opportunity for the church to be present in their community and build relationships with their neighbors. CFC also has a partnership with the local elementary school and teams will assist the church to carry out a summer Vacation Bible School program to the students from that needy community.
